I am a multi media artist with an emphasis on drawing, painting, constructions, writing, photographs - my visual vocabulary is eclectic -whatever it takes to make the piece work. I work in a series. In my way of thinking, a series provides a continuity allowing me time to develop the visual language needed for my story line, whether figurative or abstract. Growing up I was influenced by Walt Disney, comic books and lots of Saturday afternoon movies. So I see my work as sequential - like animated films. In my drawings I play with fantasy and reality scenarios. There is always a story going on in my head. I often use digital prints of previous drawings to expand the story line and add to the visual continuity.
Earlier in my career I was advised to “pick a lane”, choose a discipline - in order to make it easier to identify my work.
That’s just not how I think.
It took a while.....but now I own my eclectic point of view and realize that the variety of my vocabulary is what makes my work unique.
This is what I present to you.
